Statue of unity height
The main purpose of the statue of unity is to dedicate our iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who served our nation as the first Home Minister of Independent India. It is about 182 meters. This statue is 29 meters taller than china’s spring temple Buddha statue and almost double to the statue of liberty in the U.S.(93 meters).
This project was first announced in 2010 and its construction was started in 2013 by Larsen Toubro with a total construction cost of Rupees 2,989 Crore (Rupees 29.89 billion; US$ 437 million). It was designed by Indian sculptor Ram Vanji Suthar. It was completed on 22nd October 2018 and was inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 31st October 2018 on the 143rd birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is always said that:

Location of the statue of unity
The statue of unity is located in the state of Gujarat, India. It is the tallest statue in the world with a height of 182 meters. It is located on the Narmada River in the Kevadiya colony, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam and that is 100 kilometers (62mi) from southeast of the city of Vadodara and 150 kilometers (93mi) from the Surat.
Timing to visit statue of unity
The statue of unity is open for six days in a week and is closed for tourists on every Monday due to maintenance work. The entry timing of the monument starts at 9 am and closes at 5 pm.

How to reach statue of unity from New Delhi?
The nearest landmark of this statue is the Sardar Sarovar Dam ( Narmada Dam) and to reach there, first, you need to reach Kevadia in the Narmada district and from there the statue is only 3.5km.
The nearest airport & railway station is located in Vadodara. You can either hire a cab or public buses to reach the statue of unity from Vadodara.
You can reach there by Bus or Taxi. The nearest bus station is Kevadiya. And taxis from Baroda to the Statue of Unity will be 105 km. Local Transport from Vadodara to Kevadiya in a taxi would cost you around 3000/- INR.
Vadodara airport is about 90 kilometers away from the site. From the airport, you can hire a cab or use state transport to get to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue.
Reach from New Delhi Via Road: There is no direct bus that is connected to Delhi & Vadodara. So trains & Flights are good options to reach there. The only option to reach the statue of unity via road is the cab, bus, or taxi at Vadodara.

Reach from New Delhi Via Train: Vadodara is very well connected from Delhi via Train & it is 90km away from the statue of unity.
There are six daily trains that are operating between these two stations.
Trains like:

- 02414/Ndls MAO SPL- takes hardly 11hrs 25mint.
- 02432/NDLS TVC SPL- takes hardly 11hrs 37mint.

- 02952/NDLS MMCT SPL- takes 11hrs only.

Reach from New Delhi Via Air: Though we used a train if money is not a thing to cause an issue, then the best route from New Delhi would be to catch flights like Indigo & Air India connected to Vadodara.

- As mentioned above, it is located in kevadia village of Gujarat. Gujarat is one of the most significant tourist stations & it is about 100km away from Vadodara, 200km from Ahmedabad & 420 km from Mumbai.
- If you want to reach here, there are various ways to reach this site that is by driving on state Highway 11 and 63.
- The nearest railway station to the Statue of Unity is located in Vadodara.
- The nearest Airport to the Statue of Unity is also located in Vadodara and runs daily flights from various metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata.
- However, you can also visit the statue of unity from Ahmedabad or Surat with both cities having Airport and railway station and being within 2-4 hours driving distance from the statue of unity.
Best Time to Visit The Statue Of Unity:
The best time to explore these destinations is in the months of March, April, May, October, and November. I visited in the month of March. There are so many local and tourist spots, which can be explored nearby the statue of unity.
Local attractions nearby the statue can be visited at any time of day. Sightseeing in the Kevadia- Narmada will take half a day or one day, but to see all the traveler spots you need to stay at least for 2 days to 3 days.
From my experience, get to the statue as early as possible, with 3 pm being the latest advisable. If you are on an express entry ticket, however, you may find visiting onwards better, as it gives you sufficient time to explore the monument and nearby attractions in time for the laser show at 7 pm.

Away 200m from the statue of unity that is a security check you might not be carrying food etc. But before security check-in outside you can carry food etc due to some cleaning circumstances. But cameras are allowed at the statue of unity.

Sardar Sarovar Dam:
Sardar Sarovar Dam is located 3.8kms away from the Statue of Unity, it is a gravity dam on the Narmada river that supplies Indian Four states Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Regarded as one of the largest dams in the world it is a good place for outdoor activities like hiking, sighting birds and crocodiles, and exploring the mountain ranges. This dam has 23 gates.
Zarwani Waterfalls:
Zarwani waterfalls are 14.4km away from the statue of unity. These Waterfalls give opportunities to trek, picnic, and wildlife photography.
Valley of Flowers:
Valley of flowers is just at a distance of 2.4kms away from the statue of unity. The valley of flowers contains over more than 100 varieties of flowers, climbers, colorful glasses, and bamboo. The valley also has two lakes. Other attractions like a trek, a selfie with the statue, the Garden of five senses, and Sardar garden.
Poicha:

ShoolPaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary:

ShoolPaneshwar Mahadev Temple:

This campsite is 7km away from the statue of unity. This campsite is surrounded by the Karjan forest area, dediapada forest area, and the Dang forest area. Jungle Safari Park:

The entry fee for kids is Rupees125 and for adults 200.
Kabirvad:
This place is a little far away from the statue of unity. It is about 60km away from the statue of unity, but if you have time and are willing to take driving for a couple of hours so don’t miss this place. It is one of the oldest and largest trees in Asia which is surrounded by 3km of area.

- The statue of unity is situated at a 3- storey base. The base comprises a memorial garden on the ground and a large exhibit hall focuses on the life and achievements of Sardar Patel.
- The statue is designed to resist the wind velocity of more than 60 meters/second. Apart from wind, the statue can also withstand vibrations and earthquakes up to 6.5 on the Richter Scale.
- At 153 meters, there lies a viewing gallery. You can take a panoramic view of the Dam. The gallery can accommodate up to 200 visitors at a time.
- Damn costly- The government of India spent around rupees 2989crore to build the statue.
